Sharon McRoberts - Asst Director of Nursing – Regulation, Workforce Planning, Education and Development - The South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust
"The South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland, have been working in partnership with TTM Healthcare for two years, to recruit International Nurses into vacancies in the Trust, into our acute settings across our hospitals. The team at TTM Healthcare, Peter, Bryden and more recently Katie have been excellent in sourcing nurses from around the world to come to Northern Ireland to work. From September 2020 to October 2021 TTM have supplied 280 international nurses and this has reduced our vacancies for adult nurses to the lowest it has ever been since I have been in this role despite the challenges of recruiting during a pandemic.
The knowledgeable team at TTM work efficiently in the processing of nurses once sourced and provide us with all the documentation required to interview the candidate. Once interviewed the team at TTM handle any further paperwork and checks and keep us updated via weekly virtual calls as well as detailed reports with nurses currently awaiting allocation to our Trust. The OSCE pass rate is 100% with most nurses passing their exams within 6-8 weeks of arriving in N Ireland and that included the quarantining period!
Throughout the time the Trust has worked with TTM we have found them to be very professional and accommodating to our changing needs. As a result we have a great working relationship and we would highly recommend TTM Healthcare’s services to other healthcare organisations."
Anne-Marie Varney - Corporate Director of Nursing - Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
“Manchester University Foundation NHS Trust (MFT) has established an experienced, efficient and successful international recruitment programme. Working closely with TTM we have recruited high standards of candidates from various international locations each year. Tackling and managing risk, establishing standard processes and procedures, TTM have offered unique insight, solutions and advice to our recruitment challenges.
Our nurses sourced through TTM are now a key part of our recruitment strategy for our Nursing and Midwifery workforce. From providing local business and market intelligence to organising transport or meeting and greeting arrivals, TTM do really go above and beyond to ensure they meet our demands and expectations. During the pandemic it has been particularly demanding to navigate travel restrictions, government guidelines and developing risks, TTM have supported us every step of the way, flexibly adjusting their dedicated resources, working out of hours where required and working dynamically in partnership we have continued our programme delivery.
Where we have increased our recruitment needs in the last two years, TTM have been able to increase and maintain our recruitment pipeline and ensure the Trust has been able to manage our increasing demands for experienced and skilled registered nurses, the ability to deliver increased numbers of arrivals into our hospitals and managed clinical services has been a key for our workforce strategy during the pandemic."
Linda Thompson - HR Project Lead for International Recruitment - Health and Social Care (HSC)
“The 5 HSC Trusts in Northern Ireland had identified challenges to recruiting Adult Band 5 Nurses to satisfy our rising vacancies and achieving future staffing levels for service developments, so partnered with TTM in 2016 to recruit nurses from overseas to support our local recruitment initiatives.
We wanted to attract, recruit and retain nurses to provide high quality nursing care across our hospital network in Northern Ireland. To date TTM has successfully supplied over 970 International Nurses to our Trusts. The impact of this level of international nurse recruitment on the HSC cannot be underestimated. The nurses recruited have helped to provide safe staffing levels within our wards across Northern Ireland and have enabled the Trusts to provide appropriate and patient centred care. This has been invaluable, and with the additional pressure of the Covid pandemic our international nurses have additionally supported our regional vaccination programmes.
TTM’s collaboration has been instrumental in this success. From Day 1, Peter Maher, Bryden Cody and the wider ‘TTM Tribe’ have patiently supported the HSC Project Team and the wider Trust networks to set up processes in partnership to deliver volume and quality candidates. Recruiting from overseas can be complex and they have worked closely with us to deliver to our requirements and adapt. We have an open and honest relationship with the team and value their ideas and expertise to help us develop our overseas recruitment and solve problems and issues along the way, of which there have been many!
What makes their service exceptional is that they are our partner, rather than a supplier, and we truly work together to achieve our project aims. Never has this partnership been more important, or tested, than over the last 18 months as we worked together to overcome the challenges of recruiting from overseas during the pandemic managing travel restrictions, expiring documentation, quarantining, nurse’s expectations and ever-changing government guidelines and still delivering nurses to support our patient care.
The TTM team has continued to provide an exceptional service to the HSC and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership."
